VoiceJar stores your local data separately from the program files. Updating or uninstalling the app does not silently delete your notes.
Android requires version 7.0 or newer. The desktop release requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. Long offline transcription jobs may take longer on slower devices.
API level 24+. Most phones from 2017 onwards qualify.
Whisper.cpp ships native ARMv8 binaries for the offline pipeline.
Offline Whisper uses a few hundred megabytes during a transcription job.
Plus space for your own recordings — audio stays on your device.
You can pick the input source per recording.
Not required for offline Whisper. Optional when you use a cloud provider with your own key.
“Draw over other apps” (floating bubble) and battery-optimisation exemption (long jobs) are optional.
Cloud transcription with your own key offloads the work entirely — useful on slower phones.
Install on Android today and your first 14 days are full Pro — cloud transcription, AI auto-triage, every feature unlocked. No signup, no payment, no email. After the trial, VoiceJar stays free with your own keys.
Your recordings, notes, projects and tasks stay accessible offline — forever. We never block the app on payment.
